Daily Intentions as a Facilitator.

10 Feb

Today is Monday, February 11. Today I intend to begin modeling all the things I want to see in others. This notion used to be a lot more intuitive than it is today. But if I do it intentionally, not begrudgingly, It’s a great way to start.

Not too long ago one of my students expressed that he thought it was awesome that I did all of the projects I assigned last year. I had a good time doing them, as well. It’s one of those side benefits of teaching. You get to be the learner and the doer as well. I could go on and on about how most public models don’t do that. So the modeling is really for my own benefit. And if that motivates other people to perform, then good for them as well. But then having help somebody else is also good for me. See how that works?

This starts with an exercise such as this, ask them to write their daily intentions. And so shall I. At the end of the day we’ll write oureflections. And so shall I. It will be an exercise in expression, composition, planning, ownership, and accountability.

Check back at the end of the day and see how I’ve done. Also provide links to my students blogs.
